I am thoughtful, kind, compassionate, sensual, and resilient. Mountains, desert, my garden, music, friends, and solitude nourish me.

I appreciate the great irony that is life and find that it is still an inexplicable venture. I am still learning about myself, still exploring the places where I am stuck, and still opening to ways to get unstuck. And my quest is lightened by a good sense of humor - I love to laugh!

The most important part of my day is the 20 or 30 minutes I spend meditating. I go to yoga once or twice a week, and walk 30 minutes or an hour several times a week.

The symphony, jazz clubs, Folklife, theater, art, dance, movies - I like it all. I also enjoy doing improvisational movement (Interplay) and improvisational singing.

I shy away from dogma, be it religious, political, or cultural. I know a little about Buddhism and Judaism, and a fair amount about Catholicism, and find value and richness in each tradition. My true roots, though, are in paganism - earthy, sensual, and bound to the seasons.

I have worked as an editor, biology teacher, and instructional designer and am now semi-retired. Ferry boats - well, they are the ideal pace of life. Sometimes I wish I lived in the country, for the peace of it. Or in Mexico, for the sun of it.

I would like to meet a kindred spirit who lives simply, finds joy in life, perseveres through the down times, is emotionally intelligent, politically aware, likes to explore ideas, nurtures an inner life, and works toward personal or spiritual growth.
